Animal Kingdom on Exhibit at Arts Center of Henderson County

Art of the Animal Kingdom will be on view at The Arts Center of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, through Nov. 18. The exhibit was organized by the Bennington Center of the Arts in Vermont and features an exceptional array of wildlife and animal art by nationally and internationally known artists.

Many of the world's best wildlife artists have been juried into the show in past years including Carl Brenders, John Seerey-Lester, Dino Paravano, Tim Cherry and Rosetta, creating unique and unparalleled exhibits. This year's show includes such artists as Kathleen Friedenberg, Veryl Goodnight, Terry Isaak and Morten Solberg. The Bennington Center for the Arts is offering this as a traveling exhibit, thus sharing this outstanding collection of wildlife art with viewers from around the country. The extensive support of wildlife conservation by animal artists and the print publishing industry has done much to focus attention on our world's need to protect our Earth's heritage. We hope the Art of the Animal Kingdom will further public awareness of the importance of animals to the quality of human life. The show will exhibit 60 pieces of two- and three-dimensional art from the original show of 100. Most of the selected artwork will be for sale.

The exhibit will also feature Bob Travers' outstanding works of animal art. Travers is a local wildlife artist from Fletcher, NC and says, "A successful painting depends on its believability to act as a whole, as if one were viewing a moment in time. It should tell a story and draw the viewer to that moment as though they had experienced it first hand... Through my art I hope to bring a further awareness and appreciation for the world around us and for the wildlife that we share our lives with. This is our heritage and something that must be preserved for future generations to enjoy."

The exhibit will travel to Bolivar, MO, after it closes at Arts Center.
