Hand and Hand Gallery in Flat Rock, NC, Presents New Works by Molly Sharp and David Voorhees

Hand and Hand Gallery in Flat Rock, NC will feature new work by potter, David Voorhees and jeweler, Molly Sharp from Oct. 6 - 23, 2003.

Voorhees and Sharp, the owners of Hand and Hand Gallery, returned from a one-month artist-in-residency program organized through the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada. They were provided living and studio space in Crowsnest Pass in the Rocky Mountains in order to design and create new work. During their stay they were evacuated twice from the town of Blairmore due to the wildfires in that area. Therefore, their intent to create new and innovative work was interrupted. As a result, they became more involved with the community and their creations took on a very different meaning and look.

A storyboard of their experience will include photographs and pieces of their new work and will comprise the centerpiece vignette in the gallery.
