Gallery C in Raleigh, NC, Features Works by Jimmy Craig Womble II

Gallery C in Raleigh, NC, will present the exhibition, Jimmy Graig Womble, II - New Oils, in the gallery's Solo Gallery, from Oct. 5 through Nov. 12, 2005.

Gallery C is pleased to announce a new body of paintings by Jimmy Craig Womble, II; one of the most talented young landscape painters in North Carolina today.

This Rocky Mount, NC, native has pursued landscape painting since graduating from the Design School at North Carolina State University in 1995. His primary subjects of interest have been the dilapidated buildings and vehicles that populate Eastern North Carolina's vanishing agricultural community. Womble sees these relics as monuments to the history of the region and he is now finding similar inspiration with the boat docks and marine work stations around his new home on the Outer Banks.

Womble's oils have thick, richly painted surfaces and a strong use of light and shadow. The artist continually transforms even the most run-down building or boat into an object of beauty and majesty.
