SOLO Art Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, Features Works by Cama Tadlock

Cama Tadlock: Recent Paintings, a solo exhibition featuring her recent oil and acrylic paintings, will open at SOLO Art Gallery in Winston-Salem, NC, on Oct. 4, 2005. Tadlock is a versatile and highly skilled painter and will be exhibiting a variety of works at the gallery through Nov. 4, 2005. Paintings will include her atmospheric landscapes of sunrises and sunsets, as well as her nonrepresentational abstract works.

Tadlock is a native of North Carolina and presently lives on a thirty-acre farm with her husband and her horses. She has studied art at UNC-Charlotte and the Tryon Center for the Visual Arts, among other locations. She has taken extensive workshops with many nationally and internationally renowned artists, including Richard Schmid and Dennis Sheehan. Tadlock's work has been in many regional and national juried shows and can be found in many private and corporate collections.

Through her career, Tadlock's painting talents have been expressed in realistic landscapes, as well as boldly colored abstracts. As she states, "I am a matrix. From deep within, emotions and memories of the people and places that I love grow into a unique personal expression. It is always a wonderful journey into experimentation."

In the Fall of 2003, Tadlock was introduced to the paintings of Dennis Sheehan. He is well-known for painting landscapes of mood and light in the Tonalist tradition. She fell in love with this style of painting and now strives to capture that moment of shifting light that occurs at daybreak and sunset in her landscapes. Tadlock will be exhibiting works in several sizes, as well as both vertical and horizontal orientations.
