Tryon Fine Arts Center in Tryon, NC, Features Works by Betty Burdue

Tryon Painters and Sculptors will present the exhibit, Life As We See It, featuring oil and watercolor paintings by Betty Burdue, in Gallery Too at the Tryon Fine Arts Center in Tryon, NC. The exhibit will be on view from Oct. 13 through Nov. 3, 2007.

Burdue has studied under various well known artists in Florida and Michigan, and has received many ribbons and honors at shows throughout the years for both her oil and watercolor paintings. While in Michigan, lighthouses, boats and nautical scenes were her specialty, but now she prefers painting scenes from the beautiful North Carolina mountains.

With her husband Jay, Burdue lives in Tryon during the summer, and Nokomis, FL, during the winter season. In the Fall of 2005, they moved to North Carolina from Michigan where she had shown her work in each of the St Clair, Shelby and Algonac Juried Fine Arts Fairs each summer.

In North Carolina, you may see her work at the Saluda Fine Arts Gallery and the Tryon Painters & Sculptors, Gallery Too. One of Burdue's paintings was recently selected to be in the prestigious 34th Annual Juried Exhibition of the Artists' Guild of Spartanburg, SC.

In Michigan, Burdues work can be seen at the St. Clair Art Center, St. Clair, MI; and the Blue Heron Gallery of Michigan Artists in Elk Lake; and the Rochester Hills Historical Museum.
