Arts Center in Lexington, NC, Offers Juried Exhibition

The Arts Center, home of Arts United for Davidson County in Lexington, NC, will be presenting the Members Juried Exhibition in both the Main and Upstairs Galleries. The exhibition will open Nov. 6 and continue through Nov. 28.

The work of Arts United Member Artists will be juried by Elsie Dinsmore Popkin, pastel artist from Winston-Salem, NC. Popkin received her BFA from Cornell University. She was the first Artist-in-Residence at Reynolda House Museum of American Art, 1975-1978, and was named Winston-Salem Artist of the Year in 1989. Popkin has been a Fellow at Yaddo and at the VA Center for Creative Arts, and recently was Artist-in-Residence at Crater Lake National Park. She has had many one-woman shows throughout the area. Her work is represented in many private and public collections, including Cornell University, Wake Forest University, Duke Medical Center and Wachovia Bank. She has been listed in Who's Who in American Art and Who's Who of American Women.
