Center of the Earth Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Roberto Azank & Wes Hunting

Center of the Earth Gallery in the NODA Art District in Historic North Charlotte, NC, is proud to present paintings by Roberto Azank and glass sculptures by Wes Hunting, on view from Nov. 5 through Dec. 24, 2004.

By depicting objects with meticulous detail and vibrant color, Argentine born artist Roberto Azank creates paintings that have a heightened sense of reality. In Azank's paintings, ordinary objects such as flowers, fruits, and vessels are given new life as they set the stage for a sublime experience. His minimalist compositions emphasize the precision and draftsmanship that has a classical feeling.

This new body of work presents his imagery on a grander scale with similar intensity. His works are featured in international private and corporate collections including American Express Financial, MN; Sprint Telecommunications, KS; and Charles Henri Ford, NY.

Wes Hunting is a nationally recognized glassblower who is best known for his stunning vessels with millifiori. Current work represents a departure into a more sculptural realm that explores our mass consumerism culture with tongue in cheek humor combined with a high level of technical expertise. In this new work, Hunting mimics in glass the ordinary everyday object and constructs a visual story with it. Numerous collections include The White House, Cleveland Museum of Art, and Phillip Morris Company.
