The Artists' Basement in Columbia, SC, Offers Works by Rosewood Arts Guild

The Rosewood Arts Guild (RAG) of Columbia, SC, will present an All Members Show, Sale and Benefit at The Artists' Basement in Five Points in Columbia, from Dec. 1- 4, 2006. A portion of sales will be donated to Harvest Hope Food Bank of Columbia. Patrons donating 3 or more items of non-breakable, nonperishable food will receive a $5 gift certificate towards the purchase of works in the show. The show will feature an eclectic mix of fine art and craft.

RAG was organized in the Spring of 2006 to promote and support local arts and artists and to foster a creative dialogue among artists and the community. The guild welcomes creative individuals interested in all expressive media including visual and object art, music, dance, performance and words. RAG's goal is to weave our community together by providing a resource for artists and by increasing appreciation and support for all arts.

The Artists' Basement was opened in October 2005 by Laura Brown. The Artists' Basement is one of several area galleries in Columbia which promote and feature local artists. The gallery was featured in an article on Columbia's local art scene entitled "Underground Art" written by Ron Aiken and published in the October 4 issue of the Columbia Freetimes.
