Arts Council of Lincoln County in Lincolnton, NC, Features Works by Donna McMahon

The Arts Council of Lincoln County in Lincolnton, NC, will present the exhibit, The Many Faces of Art, featuring works by Donna McMahon, on view from Nov. 3 through Dec. 31, 2008, in the Cochrane and Carolina Galleries.

McMahon is a free-lance artist and art instructor from Gaston County, NC, now residing in Hendersonville, NC. Her work has been exhibited in gallery and festival settings, both in North Carolina and Florida, where she previously lived. In addition, her art work can be seen in homes and businesses throughout the country.

The exhibit will feature McMahon's portraiture, having begun her portrait career working at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. With her portrait media ranging from pencils to pastels, oils and watercolors, she displays artistic mastery of not only people, but pets and homes as well.

Also on exhibit will be McMahon's oils highlighting great moments from the 1970's UNC Tarheels basketball games. In addition, her courtroom sketches will also be on display. These sketches have been featured on WCNC Channel 6 News in Charlotte as well as CNN affiliates throughout the country. Her versatility continues with oil paintings inspired by a recent European tour to Germany and Switzerland.
