November Issue 2010

Adam Cave Fine Art in Raleigh, NC, Features Works by Joseph Cave

Adam Cave Fine Art in Raleigh, NC, will present a large one-man exhibit by one of North Carolina's favorite artists, Joseph Cave, on view from Nov. 5 through Dec. 11, 2010.

This much-anticipated show will include an all new collection of oil paintings by this veteran landscape painter. A book, both catalog and retrospective of Cave's art, has been published in conjunction with the exhibit and is the first publication of it's kind about this popular artist.

Cave was born and raised in the Columbia, SC, but attended art school in San Francisco. The book is a compilation of Cave's 40 year career and includes images from a number of distinct periods and places; Northern California in the 1970's and early '80's, Portugal in the late 1980's when the artist and his family were living there, and the Carolinas from the 1990's to today. A biography is included as well as an essay by arts writer Dave Delcambre, a tribute to Cave.

The current exhibition includes large canvases by Cave featuring colorful florals, farms and landscapes, plus some city scenes from Raleigh and the surrounding towns. One of these is a downtown Raleigh street revealing the contrast of smaller, older buildings and the corner of a park with several skyscrapers in the background hovering over the vintage site.
