Hickory Museum of Art in Hickory, NC, Offers works by Lance Turner

The Hickory Museum of Art in Hickory, NC, is presenting Faces and Interfaces: New Paintings by Lance Turner, featuring works by Morganton, NC, artist Lance Turner, on view in the Shuford Gallery, on view through Nov. 30, 2013.

The exhibition includes ten paintings and one installation. Turner’s process-based art includes Photorealism, Op art, patterning, and grid manipulation. Drawing inspiration from skateboard graphics, the artist further transformed the gallery space by painting directly on walls.

Turner was born in NC in 1985. He graduated magna cum laude from Memphis College of Art with a BFA in Painting and Art History, and a MFA in Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design.

Turner has exhibited in galleries and Museums throughout the United States, including: Los Angeles Center for Digital Art in California; National Ornamental Metals Museum in Memphis, Tennessee; Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, Florida; Southern Nevada Museum of Art in Las Vegas; Farmington Museum of Art in New Mexico; Woodruff Arts Center and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Atlanta, Georgia; and Mesh Gallery and Kal? Gallery in Morganton, NC.
