Art League of Hilton Head on Hilton Head Island, SC, Offers Annual Boutique Show

The Art League of Hilton Head on Hilton Head Island, SC, is presenting its annual Holiday Arts Boutique through Jan. 3, 2007.

The gallery is filled with wonderful fine art created by more than 100 local artists and, specifically for the holidays, an expansive selection of giftable art items such as miniature paintings, prints, and wearable art. Scarves, aprons, and jewelry are among the wearable arts products.

There are also tree ornaments and decorative items for the holiday home. Wooden carved evergreens for the mantle, hand-painted Christmas balls for the tree and ceramic angels to decorate the dinner table. There are even hand-woven pillows by Mary Kelly and tile coasters and boxes created by Diane Dean.

Vickie Jourdan's hand painted Christmas tree ornaments are colorful additions to your own collection. Joyce Albrecht's carved wooden trees bring a touch of the outdoors indoors to brighten the season. Dawn Duff and Ellen Smith have brought in some wonderful ceramic items and Ginny Storin's "knitpicks" scarves will delight every recipient. Bob Weissman has designed some holiday notecards.

The holiday season is filled with gift-giving opportunities, and the Art League of Hilton Head makes it easy to find something for everyone on your shopping list. The entire Island Room of the gallery is devoted to the Holiday Arts Boutique. The main gallery space contains its usual selection of fine artwork by member artists. Paintings in oil, pastel, acrylics and watercolors in a variety of styles and subject matter make outstanding gifts, or additions to your own home. Photographs and notecards, as well top-quality prints, expand the available choices. Items are one of a kind and unique to the Art League Gallery.

Not able to make a choice? A paid membership in the Art League will bring a friend or family member the benefits of belonging to the largest art organization on the island, including a monthly newsletter, invitations to show openings and other art events all year long. Still not able to make a decision? Purchase an Art League Gallery gift certificate in any denomination, and let the recipient make his or her own selections.

Is someone you know interested in learning to paint or draw? An art class at the Art League Academy on Cordillo Parkway or a workshop taught by nationally renowned art instructors might be the perfect gift that will bring lasting joy. The Art League Gallery will help you make a selection and register someone for a class.
