Artists' Attic in Camden, SC, Celebrates Its 15th Year of Operation

The Artist's Attic is a cooperative, open studio located on S. Broad Street in the Historic District of Camden, SC. It is currently home to nine professional local artists, representing a variety of media and styles. The co-op also operates a gallery presenting current works from studio members.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the studio/gallery's presence in Camden, making it perhaps the oldest continuously operating open cooperative studio/gallery of its kind in South Carolina.

Works by all members are on display, with a special retrospective of works by founding member Lynn Wilson and her nieces, Lisa Boykin Adams and Marti Wallace, who started the studio in this same location, back in 1993.

Wilson, a native of the Boykin, SC, area, is the member of longest standing with the studio, having been a member throughout the cooperative's 15 years. She earned her AB in Fine Arts from the University of South Carolina. She is also a member of the Camden Art Association. She does watercolors of people, pets, houses, florals and landscapes. Her oils cover the same subjects. She also has a line of colored pencil works.

The cooperative is also home to artists Dot Goodwin, Ginny Caraco, Margaret Bass, Libby Bussinah, Ann Starnes, Karen White, Midge Bremer, and Lea McMillan.
