Kensington-Stobart in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Stacy Morgan

Kensington-Stobart Gallery in Charleston, SC, will feature recent additions to Stacy Morgan's series of paintings influenced by the coast, marshes and wildlife of the Lowcountry. The exhibit will be on display from Dec. 5 through Jan. 20, 2009.

Morgan vividly displays still lifes, landscapes and portraits in a detailed manner using oils on canvas. She plays up color, shadows and highlights to intensify the natural beauty of plump farm produce, palm trees by the coast, a school of swirling fish, or a coastal sand dune. Having grown up in Charleston, Morgan enjoys painting things found in nature, especially along the coast. She uses her trade skills in graphic design by strictly incorporating the elements of composition, color, light and texture, into all of her paintings.

Morgan has won numerous awards in painting as well as in her graphic design profession. She lived in Washington, DC, and then spent several years in Germany studying the masters before settling in Lexington, SC. Currently, Morgan is studying Flemish style painting and is completing a series of Middleton Garden oil paintings. "My painting reflects who I am at different periods of my life. I have always painted and enjoy creating with oils, acrylics and watercolors."
