The Haen Gallery in Asheville, NC, Features Works by GC Myers

The Haen Gallery in Asheville, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Now..., featuring works by GC Myers, on view through Dec. 31, 2008.

Myers is a self-taught painter from the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. He has always been drawn to visions of color and shape, rhythm and emotion, but it was only after sustaining injuries from falling off the roof of the house he was building that he had the time and focus to realize his visions. It was then in the early 1990s that he began to paint and the inspiration poured out. Today Myers' work is recognized and collected worldwide. He has developed a vocabulary of imagery that he uses to convey the emotion and feeling within his stylized landscapes. The trees and pathways, suns and moons, hills and valleys, lead the viewer right in to the work and then allow for his or her own interpretations.

This exhibit is a presentation of Myers' latest body of work, dedicated to the themes of living with intent in the present and using the energy created to move forward.
