Charleston Artist Guild in Charleston, SC, Offers Works by Kenneth Hanger

The Charleston Artist Guild in Charleston, SC, will present the exhibit, Teapots and China, featuring works by Kenneth Hanger, on view in the Guild Gallery from Dec. 1 - 31, 2011. A reception will be held on Dec. 2, from 6-8pm. The exhibition features work from a recent trip to China and of course work of his wife’s tea sets.

Hanger has long been drawn to painting. He began to pursue art seriously in the 1980s and on into the 1990s taking many classes with artists such as Rhett Thurman, Mary Mulligan and Charles Reid. He transitioned from his first love, watercolors, to oils and continued to work with artists Kim English and Bill Dunlap. He enjoys exploring the softness of watercolor and the vividness of oil as well as the spontaneity of plein air.

While continuing to evolve as an artist, Hanger has also found the time to be a full time interventional cardiologist and triathlete.
