Mars Hill College, in Mars Hill, NC, Presents Exhibit of Work by Monika Teal

Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC, just a few miles north of Asheville, will offer an exhibition of new paintings by Monika Teal. The exhibition will be on view in the Weizenblatt Art Gallery from Feb. 27 through Apr. 9, 2001.

Monika Teal has been developing her rich, painterly allegories for more than twenty years. "These allegories began with my own personal search for meaning and have since come to bridge into something more transpersonal," say Teal. "I utilize myth and spiritualism as a source of depth, meaning and subject. It is a way for me to translate my own experiences through more universal themes. I have a tremendous respect for myth, magic, and the feminine. I paint out of respect for this sacredness".
