Tiemaker's Gallery in Chalreston, SC Presents Works by Emily K. Jenkins

Tiemaker's Gallery in Charleston, SC, will present an exhibition of works by Emily K. Jenkins from Feb 22. through Apr. 2, 2002. The exhibit will showcase works by this young contemporary artist whose strong abstract paintings celebrate color and stroke.

"My work uses pure color and the act of pure painting to create harmonies and dissonance in a visual language. The combinations of colors set up a movement among the clashing and contrasting colors. In my work, color has its own rhythms, its own structure, and should be celebrated for itself," states Jenkins.

The work is the abstract construction of color to create striking modern compositions. The artist communicates using brush stroke and color to create moving images, while embracing the sensual qualities of paint.

The gallery also features works by David Edwards, Matt Overend, and Dorothy Doubleday.
