Art Auction to Benefit United Family Services in Mecklenburg County, NC

On Mar. 2, the 2nd Annual Art with Heart Auction will take place starting at 6:30pm at Dana Auditorium, Queens College in Charlotte, NC. The auction is to benefit United Faimily Service's domestic violence programs, The Shelter for Battered Women and Victim's Assistance. The proceeds benefit a medical outreach program designed to educate professionals in the diagnosis and protocal of domestic violence in hospital and clinic settings in Mecklenburg County.

Incredible pieces of art from local artists will be auctioned off - and the feature of the evening is a piece by fresco artist, Ben Long. Other participating artists include: Edith Albritton, Kathryn Banks, Lynda Lea Bonkemeyer, Andy Braitman, Diane Bywaters, Patti Bryan, Sherri Cisne, Robin Claver, Mary Conti, Cher Cosper, Rick Crown, Nan Young Cutting, Darrell DeLoach, Sandra Delonis, Loren DiBenedetto, Rex Eagle, Austin Fox, Jennifer Graham, Tony Griffin, Barbara Hearn, Marty Helms, Ken Hillberry, Connie Humphrey, John Jordan, Mitchell Kearney, M.K. Kelly, Betty Knausel, Ben Long, Shanti Marie, Leigh McDonald, Jim McGuire, Doris Meekins, Valerie Morgan, Karen Pierce, Cindi Powell, Libby Rathke, Eva Rizzardi, Tara Romine, Kathy Rorie, Sharon Schwenk, Paul Sires, Libby Smart, Saundra Snyder, Mary Lou Sussman, J. Andrew Svedlow, Lindsey Thacker, Harriet Thompson, Lisa Underwood, Betty Valladares, Martha Wallace, Cate Wagoner, Jay Weinmiller, and JoAnne Younts.

A Silent Auction takes place from 6:30pm through 8pm. A Live Auction will begin at 8:15pm. Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple in advance and $50 at the door per person.

United Family Services is a nonprofit, United Way member. Founded in 1909, the agency focuses on connecting individuals, families and the community with resources that promote stability, security and self-sufficiency.
