Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Offers Exhibit of Works by Wolf Kahn Before the Gallery Moves

For an unprecedented third time, Harry N. Abrams, Inc., book publishers, has chosen the celebrated Wolf Kahn as the subject for a publication. The book titled Wolf Kahn's America: An Artist's Travels presents the American Landscape as seen through the eyes of this exceptional artist. Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is pleased to present an exhibition of both paintings and pastels inspired by the artist's sojourns across America on view through Feb. 14, 2004. The exhibition includes works from such diverse locations as Hawaii, Michigan and North Carolina. This will be the last exhibition in the gallery's current location in Morrocroft Village across from SouthPark Mall.

Wolf Kahn was born in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1927 and emigrated to the U.S. as a child. After attending classes at the New School for Social Research he studied with Hans Hofmann at his School of Fine Art in New York City. An internationally acclaimed artist, Kahn has been honored with numerous awards, including both Fulbright and Guggenheim Fellowships. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Design, the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters and has served on the New York Arts Commission.

After 10 years at Morrocroft Village, Jerald Melberg Gallery is relocating, though not so far away. Beginning early March 2004, the gallery will be located at 625 South Sharon Amity Road. This is near the corner of Providence Road in the same small complex with the restaurant Hotel Charlotte. Over the next few weeks a transformation will take place, as the building is totally renovated, including a new facade.

Through all the activity of moving, the gallery will remain open at its current location until Feb. 14, at which time the last exhibition at Morrocroft Village will end. The phone, fax and email will not change, even after the move.
