Bernie Horton Gallery in Charleston, SC, Changes Name and Location

Horton Hayes Fine Art, featuring the original paintings of brothers, Mark Kelvin Horton and Bernie Horton, opened its doors in January 2005. Successor to the Bernie Horton Gallery on Church Street, the new gallery showcases the Horton brothers' work in a bright, airy, open space on the corner of State and Queen Streets in historic downtown Charleston.

Both artists are known for capturing the scenery and atmosphere of the Lowcountry landscape in oil on canvas as well as watercolor on paper. Winding creeks, broad oaks, proud palms and dramatic skies are typical components of their work. Figurative pieces depict the local harvesters of the sea and marshes, including oysterers, crabbers and shrimpers. From time to time, the gallery will also feature works inspired by the artists' travels.

Mark and Bernie Horton each have a wide and growing following, both regionally and nationally. Their work is in numerous private and corporate collections and the Gallery is pleased to work with collectors, designers and consultants in selecting or commissioning a work.

Horton Hayes Fine Art's sister gallery, the Mark Kelvin Horton Studio Gallery, is located on I'On Square in Mount Pleasant, SC. Horton Hayes Fine Art is located at 30 State Street.
