UNC Asheville Students Hold Collaborative Photography Exhibition

Seeing Community: A Collaborative Documentary Exhibit, an exhibition of 45 black-and-white photographs, will be on view through Feb. 8, 2005, at UNC Asheville's Highsmith University Union Gallery in Asheville, NC. The show is a collection of photographs from a year-long photography documentary project conducted by UNC Asheville Undergraduate Research Scholars Marcela Ashburn, John Burdett, Naomi Johnson and Jamie Simons.

Asburn and Johnson photographed children who live in Woodridge Apartments and are served by the Emma Family Resource Center. The exhibition also includes photographs taken by the children. Burdett and Simons documented the residents of Life House, an independent living facility for individuals with spinal cord injuries or other mobility issues.

For more information check our NC Institutional Gallery listings or call the Highsmith University Union at 828/232-5000.
