UNC Asheville in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Kristy Deetz

Enfolding Surface and Silence, an exhibition of encaustic paintings by visiting artist Kristy Deetz, will be on view at UNC Asheville's University Gallery through Feb. 8, 2005.

Deetz is noted for encaustic and oil paintings on large wood panels. Recent works have featured drapery, fruit and texts in a variety of languages. She has exhibited widely for more than 20 years. In 2004, Deetz was involved in nine shows across the nation.

Deetz, who holds a master's of fine arts from Ohio State University, is associate professor of art at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
