Annual Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Juried Show in Myrtle Beach, SC

The Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild Juried Show 2001 will open Mar. 3 at the Franklin G. Burroughs - Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum in Myrtle Beach, SC. The show will continue through Apr. 1.

This is the fourth annual juried show sponsored by the WACG. Seventy-eight pieces were selected for the show from around 230 submissions. Among the 66 featured artists are, Alex Powers, Joseph Vercautern, Sudie Daves, and Jim Darlington.

Selected works include watercolors, acrylics, photography, mixed media, graphite, pastels, sculpture, and more. These pieces will compete for $10,000 in merit and purchase awards. Award winners will be announced at an opening reception.

This year's juror, Harriett Green, is Visual Arts Director of the SC Arts Commission and a former assistant curator of the Columbia Museum of Art. Among the numerous shows she has curated are SC Arts Commission Visual Arts and Crafts Fellows Retrospective and Kentucky/South Carolina Exchange. She has served as a juror for state exhibitions and a panelist for regional exhibitions.
