Associated Artists Of Winston-Salem in W-S, NC, Feature Works by Members

Associated Artists Of Winston-Salem is pleased to announce New Year Highlights, an exhibition of fine art by Associate Members, which will be on display in the Associated Artists Gallery, located in the Sawtooth Center for Visual Art in downtown Winston-Salem, NC. The exhibition will be on view from Mar. 8 through Apr. 21. The show will be judged by Ed and Mitzi Shewmake, W-S 2001 Artists of the Year. Volunteer show chairs are Donna Schmid and Barbara Roberts, both practicing artists in the Winston-Salem area.

On Mar. 16, at noon, the public is invited to an Artist's Dialog moderated by Ed & Mitzi Shewmake. This free event will take place in the Associated Artists Gallery.

Ed Shewmake is Professor of Art Emeritus from Salem College. Mitzi Shewmake is Professor of Art Emeritus from Winston-Salem State University and a founder and former director of Diggs Gallery. Both exhibit throughout NC.

Associated Artists of Winston-Salem is a non-profit organization of over 500 members created more than 45 years ago by a group of local artists who wanted to exhibit their work in the community. Supported by membership dues and individual donations, AAWS also receives operating assistance from the Arts Council of Winston-Salem/ Forsyth County. Through its programs and exhibitions, AAWS encourages the creative talent of the artists, from novice to professional.
