The Art Garage in Columbia, SC, Features 2nd Annual Automotive Themed Art Show & Auction
The Art Garage in Columbia, SC, is presenting The 2nd Annual Automotive Show: The Art of Tire Tread, which will be on view through Mar. 14, 2003.
This show has been annualized due to the tremendous response to The 1st Annual Automotive Show: The Art of the Hubcap, which attracted more than 500 people and resulted in 80% of the 65 pieces of artwork being sold (each piece included an actual hubcap). The current show is open to a national pool of artists, including students under the age of 18. Over 200 prospecti have requested from artists in 12 states and Mexico.
The Art of Tire Tread will be juried for Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. Monetary value of awards are determined after all entries are received. Eileen Blyth, our juror, has been showing work in this media for approximately one year with outstanding sales and review. Both her experience in the actual craft of physically manipulating this media as well as the inspiration and humor evident in her work make her the perfect juror, both for this show and for furthering the spirit of The Art Garage.
