CPCC Art Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Offers Works by Raed Al-Rawi & Alex Clark

The Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC, will present works by Raed Al-Rawi and Alex Clark in the exhibition, Cities Under One Moon, on view through Mar. 29, 2003, in the CPCC Art Gallery.

In this exhibit, artists Raed Al-Rawi and Alex Clark collaborate on sharing their visions with the world. Both living in Charlotte, (recently on the same street) these accomplished painters come from different cultural and artistic backgrounds yet they share a similar mission and vision in their own art. Both painters' works are narrative yet their styles of creation are different.

Raed Al-Rawi creates surreal atmospheres that interpret his narrative subjects and express his connections with life. The fruit of his art is to share with the viewer a visual and emotional connection.

Alex Clark's narrative paintings reflect the lessons of history, personal and universal. His subjects come from history, mythology, religion, the world around him, and anything that he thinks still has significance for modern viewers.

Interestingly, both of their fathers are working artists. Clark's father, James Clark, is a sculptor living in New York, and Al-Rawi's father, Noon Al-Rawi, is a painter living in Baghdad.
