Crooked Creek Art League in Chapin, SC, Offers Annual Juried Exhibition

The Crooked Creek Art League in Chapin, SC, will present its 8th Annual Juried Competition from Mar. 12 - 28, 2003, at Chapin's Crooked Creek Park Recreation Center. The exhibition will feature original art, in all mediums, in professional and amateur categories.

The juror for the show will be Professor Stephen Nevitt, Chairman of the Department of Art at Columbia College in Columbia, SC. Professor Nevitt has received many awards and honors for his artwork and juried many art competitions. He recently served on the faculty of the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities.

The exhibition features over $2000 in awards which will be presented to artists for their artworks. Winning entries will be displayed in the front lobby of the Crooked Creek Park Recreation Center during the month of Apr., 2003. Sales will be handled by the Center.

Crooked Creek Art League President, Julie Brown and the Board of Directors would like to extend their appreciation to the Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties, the SC Arts Commission and the Central Carolina Community Foundation, who have provided a grant each year for our annual art exhibit. Also, many thanks to the town of Chapin, local businesses, and many Chapin residents who, through their generous donations, have helped to make our exhibitions a success each year.
