Spencer Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Renovates and Expands Gallery Space

The Spencer Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, has undergone almost a year of construction and growth. In addition to a complete renovation and expansion of their original gallery space at 55 Broad Street, the gallery will open a new space at 57 Broad Street. The combination of constructing new space and the lease of a new gallery will allow the Spencer Art Gallery to present the work of over twenty international, national, regional, and local artists.

In celebration of their growth and the addition of new artists, the gallery will present a special exhibit entitled, New Spaces, New Faces, which will open on Mar. 19, 2004, and continue through the end of the month.

The gallery will now feature an eclectic selection of paintings, prints, photographs and sculptures by Catherine Brandt-Spencer, Laurie Meyer, Gerald Brommer, Kenneth Hanger, Cisco Lindsey, Monica Ives, Leslie Pratt-Thomas, Rogers Oglesby, Stephen Neff, Charlynn Knight, Trish McKinney, Scott Pennegar, Sandra Principe, Mark McClain, Debra Howard, Debora Palmer, Raymong Gladden and Jerry Spencer, as well as guest artists. Their sculpture garden features works by additional local and regional visiting artists.
