City of North Charleston, SC, Offers Works by Michael Nocher and Eva Paar

The City of North Charleston in North Charleston, SC, will present exhibits by Michael Nocher and Eva Paar, on view in the - North Charleston City Gallery, located in the Charleston Area Convention Center, from March 1 - 31, 2010.

Michael Nocher will present architectural, beach, and wildlife photography inspired by the history and beauty of Charleston. Nocher is the winner of the 2009 Keep North Charleston Beautiful photo contest, and has also earned photography contest awards from the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, the Folly Beach Arts and Craft Guild, and the Coastal Carolina Fair. He currently resides in Charleston, SC, and his work is available for sale at the Charleston City Market and the Island Gallery in Sullivan's Island, SC.

Eva Paar's exhibit, titled Old Hollywood, presents abstracted oil paintings inspired by the Hollywood stars and starlets of the 1960's. The paintings are part of the artist's "Relaxed Formation' series, which features images that are composed of parallel lines of varying thicknesses. Born in 1977 in Salzburg, Austria, Paar discovered her passion and talent for oil painting after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2001. She has poured all of her energy into the creation of oils and analog photographic artwork since, and has exhibited her work throughout Europe, as well as in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. She currently works and lives in Linz, Austria.
