Charlotte Artist michael morgan gibbons "Captures" Provence

Charlotte artist, michael morgan gibbons is the ideal artist to team up with Perfect Design, Cleveland & Co. and Picture House Gallery in Charlotte, NC, to provide paintings for the Phillips Place Celebration of Provence in Charlotte April 19 through May 6. The French-American Chamber of Commerce along with several other organizers will present a festival of events highlighting the culture and history of Frances Provence region. The premier event will be a two stop Tour of Homes showcasing Charlotte's take on the style and flair of Provence.

gibbon's artwork is heavily influenced by several trips to Europe, in particular Paris and the Provence region. His watercolors reflect his passion for and fascination with color, the infinite pallet which he continues to explore in works that are rarely subtle, often bold, never predictable. Irreverence and whimsy characterize his studies asking that one suspend traditional observatory to accept the occasional chartreuse dawn or hot pink brownstone!

Bob Griffin at Picture House Gallery has generously loaned several of michael's original watercolors for display at the Meadowood Lane designer home. Mimi Fitz and Rita Prince of Perfect Designs have incorporated several of his paintings into their sophisticated wine cellar and bedroom ensembles. Three of michael's works stand out as a part of Maureen Cleveland's Cleveland & Co. stunning home theater design. After the Tour of Homes michael's paintings will be returned for display at Picture House Gallery in Charlotte.

Not only will michael's paintings be on display at the Meadowood Lane stop on the tour of homes .... BUT.... michael has set up a temporary studio on the third floor at Meadowood where he will be..,painting on site...throughout the show! He will be available to answer questions about his work and his passion for Provence.
