Eva Carter Gallery in Charleston, SC, Offers Yearly Solo Exhibition by Eva Carter

It only happens only once a year.... Eva Carter's solo show at the Eva Carter Gallery in Charleston, SC. Abstract Expressionist artist, Carter, has been painting diligently for her upcoming show entitled, Calculated Risk, which will be on view Apr. 26 through June 9, 2002. She will present bold and brilliant paintings which reveal her ability to couple risk and intuition with precision and logic.

When asked why she chose this interestingly oxymoronic title, the artist explains, "When I paint, the piece is constantly in motion, I am constantly in motion until a resolution is achieved. It is an exhilarating and risky process. I test how far I can push the limit of a piece before I find my way to an order and it suddenly makes sense on all levels. Although there is risk, there is some calculation which is an inevitable element from my years of experience as a painter. I don't take chances, I take calculated risks and there is a difference."

Recently Carter has been asked to be represented by Marion Meyer Contemporary Art in Laguna Beach, CA. Carter had her first show at Marion Meyer titled, The Spirit of Nature, which opened the first week of Feb. and continued until mid Mar., 2002. The show was a major success and Carter was very pleased to be present at the opening to meet many new and old clients. In joining Marion Meyer Contemporary Art, Carter adds a fourth gallery to her list of representation, with the Abstein Gallery in Atlanta, GA, the Eva Carter Gallery in Charleston, and the Joyce Robins Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. Carter is looking forward to her solo show at the Joyce Robins Gallery opening on Aug. 23 and running through Sept. 6, 2002. Carter would also like to announce her participation in the 2002 Abstract Invitational at the Blue Spiral 1 gallery in Asheville, NC, from Apr. 26 through June 22, 2002. Carter has continued to experience success and her upcoming show should be no exception. We encourage all to attend Calculated Risks. She only has one solo show a year at the Eva Carter Gallery.

Eva Carter Gallery also presents the abstract work of the late William Halsey.
