The Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island, SC, Offers Prints by John James Audubon

The works of John James Audubon are being presented in a special exhibition, Magnificent Audubon - The Original Antique Prints, at The Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Island, SC. The exhibit will continue through Apr. 14, 2007.

Art and nature lovers will be treated to some of the best known images from Audubon's famous Birds of America and his Quadrupeds of North America. Among those on view and for sale will be the Wild Turkey and the Carolina Parrot.

The Cheryl Newby Gallery and Audubon Prints and Books of Vienna, VA, have joined forces to present this show of original antique prints from Audubon's two major works on birds and animals. Audubon spent time in South Carolina gathering information for his famous study of birds which was published between 1827 and 1838. He became friends with the Reverend John Bachman of Charleston with whom he would later publish his second famous work on animals, The Viviparous Quadrupeds of North America in 1842.
