Art League of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Sandra Brugh Moore

The Art League of Henderson County will present an exhibition of works in oils, watercolors, and pen and ink by Sandra Brugh Moore, on view in the Grace Etheredge Room at the Opportunity House in Hendersonville, NC, from Apr. 6 through May 1, 2008.

Moore has created pen and ink drawings of homes and historically significant architecture, as in her set of drawings for the Carl Sandburg home in Flat Rock, NC. Other drawings have been imprinted on Fenton glass bells for collector items.

Moore's work is displayed both nationally and in European private collections. Her work can be seen at the Asheville Gallery of Art.

Moore graduated from West Virginia University in 1977 with a BA degree in Art Education. After teaching in West Virginia, she moved with her family to North Carolina where the dramatic atmospheric effects influenced her painting. The strength and power of the mountains with exposed rock facings are all sources of inspiration for her. Her landscapes reflect her love of this part of the country.

Moore's awards include Best West Virginia Landscape, and a First Place in drawing awarded to her by Jamie Wyeth. She has taught watercolor and drawing in the North Carolina Community College system and holds workshops in the Western North Carolina area.
