The Beaufort Art Association's annual event provides an opportunity not only for BAA members but for non-member artists as well to exhibit their work in a non-juried show. Area high school students may also participate. A wide variety of awards for Best in Show, top place winners and a variety of special awards and prizes for area students, will be formally presented at the Awards Ceremony on Apr. 6, 2008.

Each year the number of participating artists increases. Last year 153 artists submitted 280 works, continuing the pattern of growth and diversity. Art media represented will include oils, watercolors, acrylics, pastels, drawings, hand-pulled prints, sculpture, pottery, photography, computer-generated art, framed fiber art, works in clay or wood, mixed media and assemblage.

Tom Lynch has written seven books and hosted several award-winning programs on PBS. Recently listed as one of the nation's top 20 teachers by a leading art magazine, Lynch is represented by the Hillgoss Gallery, Gottlieb Gallery, Kinion Fine Arts and the Sedona Arts Center. He has been the spokesperson for the National Art Materials Trade Association and continues as international representative for art material manufacturers such as Holbein and Frederic Canvas. Lynch is currently featured on the Visual Arts Network, a new cable TV channel. In 2007, he became the CMO and featured artist on the Art Academy Live, a leading on-line education source.
