Grovewood Gallery in Asheville, NC, Offers Exhibit of Wood Sculptures

Grovewood Gallery in Asheville, NC, is presenting Branching Out: Grovewood Turns to Wood Sculpture, an exhibition featuring contemporary wood sculptures by 17 highly recognized artists, on view through June 16, 2013.

This international selection of artists includes Dixie Biggs, Alan Carter, Jim Christiansen, Martha Collins, Gorst DuPlessis, David Ellsworth, J. Paul Fennell, Michael & Cynthia Gibson, Alan Hollar, Jerry Kermode, Art Liestman, Jim Madden, Alain Mailland, Jim McPhail, Stephen Saunders, and Derek Weidman.

Grovewood Gallery is located across the street from the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa. It was opened in 1992 to revitalize the Homespun Shops that once housed the famous weaving and woodworking complex of Biltmore Industries. Today, Grovewood showcases 9,000 square-feet of traditional and contemporary crafts by more than 500 artists from around the United States. Over the years, Grovewood has earned the reputation of being one of the nation’s top retailers of fine American craft.
