Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Reda Kay

The Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, will present Evolution Series, featuring works by Reda Kay, on view from Apr. 1 - 30, 2014. A reception will be held on Apr. 4, from 5-8pm.

The exhibition will include Kay’s mysterious landscapes using watercolor, ink, and acrylic on canvas and board. Her contemporary art unfolds using spectrums of bold and monotone colors, and textures. Kay’s creative work reflects the mindful passage of shared time and evolution emphasizing our journey as uniting our collective spirit and the natural environment. Her emotions and spirit direct her work.

Kay’s accomplishments as a photographer led her to expand her means of expression in the visual arts. Her work, inspired by her continuing worldwide travel, and the emotions evoked are evident in her abstract art of bold and monotone color and symbolism expressed in her mysterious landscapes capturing the essence of place.

Kay also uses watercolor, acrylic, ink, and oil on paper, canvas, and board to create her art. She builds her paintings layer by layer, believing that layering metaphorically captures the essence of her creative process toward the emotional content.

Kay has exhibited in solo shows and won awards from many Western North Carolina juried exhibitions. Her art work can be found in Asheville Gallery of Art, Miya Gallery, Weaverville, NC, and in private collections in the USA and internationally.
