Spring Arts Festival Takes Place in Burnsville, NC

On Sat., May 27, artists and craftsmen from Yancey and Mitchell Counties will be selling and demonstrating on the Burnsville Square in Burnsville, NC, at the 5th Annual Arts Festival sponsored by the Toe River Arts Council and the Yancey Chamber of Commerce. The hours are from 10am to 4pm.

Thirty or so booths will be present with blown glass, pottery, wood carvings, gourds, jewelry, paintings, handmade paper items, weavings, photography and hand-rolled beeswax candles to name a few. All are local artists and craftsmen as well.

A special section of the square includes an ever-growing "Activities Area". A big favorite is the Expression Wall, sponsored by CraftPride Gallery. Young and old alike picked up paintbrushes to put their mark on the wall.

What's a festival without food? Local non-profits will be offering some good homecooked food and others will be selling flowers and plants - perfect for spring.

For further information check our NC Institutional Gallery listings or call the Toe River Arts Council at 828/682-7215 of the Yancey Chamber of Commerce at 828/682-7413.
