Carolina Galleries in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Betty Robinson

Carolina Galleries in Charleston, SC, will present the exhibition, The Lure of the Lowcountry Landscape, The paintings of Betty Robinson, from May 18 through June 17, 2003.

The Lure of the Lowcountry is a visual treat. Through her love of landscape, whether from life or from the mind's eye, Robinson captures the ever changing coastline of the South Carolina Lowcountry. This vibrant group of paintings shimmer with color and light. Robinson's use of color as line and line as color is evident as watercolor and color pencil intertwine with light and movement. The immediate impact of her work is the striking use of color combined with an abstract take on a predominantly realist landscape.

Robinson, a native of Greer, SC, currently resides in Georgetown, SC. A graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC, she received advanced art training at the Chattanooga Art Institute, the Vermont Studio Center, and the University of Tennessee.

Robinson has received numerous awards in exhibitions hosted by the South Carolina Watercolor Society, Tennessee Watercolor Society, and Kentucky Watercolor Society. Her paintings are found in many museum and corporate collections.
