Preservation Warrenton, in Warrenton, NC, Hosts Solo Exhibit at the Jacob Holt House

Preservation Warrenton is graciously hosting a solo exhibition of works by Dianne Tharrington Rodwell at the historical Jacob Holt House, 122 South Bragg Street, Warrenton, NC from 15 Saturday & Sunday, May 24 & 25, 2003.

Dianne Tharrington Rodwell was born in Warrenton, NC, in Jan., 1952. Rodwell now celebrates her rural home of 18 years (between Macon and Embro) where I explored the benevolent woods and surrounding creeks. These primal playgrounds are her constant source of creative inspiration and energy. The invitational cover painting Coming Home is a 24 x 36" oil on canvas depiction of the Macon-Embro Road snaking across Dowtin's Creek just below her childhood home, where she discovered crawfish, minnows and blue clay.

Following art school and a 10 year career in Montana, Rodwell returned to her native NC. In 1985, she was accepted as a juried artist member of Raleigh's Artspace artists organization, and has operated a studio in the Raleigh City Market since Artspace opened to the public in 1986. For many years, Rodwell commuted from Warrenton to Raleigh, while operating a studio above the Warren Record office on Main Street, Warrenton. In 1996, she closed the Warrenton studio to devote full time to the Raleigh studio. The last "local home exhibition" was a recent 30 year retrospective hosted by Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount.

Warrenton has much to offer the antique lover and connoisseur of historical homes. For more information, please visit (www.warrenton-nc.com).

The exhibit will be at the Jacob Holt House, 122 South Bragg Street, Warrenton, NC from 15 Saturday & Sunday, May 24 & 25, 2003. (US 401 North out of Raleigh eventually (50+ miles) turns into Main Street Warrenton. Just take a right at the first traffic light in Warrenton and go 1 block east to find the Jacob Holt House.
