Somerhill Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC, Features Show of Small Works

Somerhill Gallery in Chapel Hill, NC, is presenting the exhibit, 8X10: and Other Small Works, an invitational twenty-person exhibition featuring small scale artwork of various subject matter and media. The exhibition will be on display through June 1, 2006.

Somerhill Gallery's upcoming exhibition features a vast array of artistic styles and media, with the focus on artwork of a small scale. From the serene, etheric landscape paintings of John Beerman to the heightened colors of Kathleen Jardine's highly detailed interiors, there is something to please any artistic taste.

"Small is the new big!" exclaimed Joseph Rowand, Director of Somerhill Gallery. "A collector can always find a spot for that special small painting, that little jewel that can be placed on an easel on a table, or placed 'just so' in an idiosyncratic spot that will allow the small painting to radiate beyond it's perceived scale."
