Ann Long Fine Art in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Jory Glazener

Ann Long Fine Art in Charleston, SC, is presenting an exhibition of ink drawings entitled, Jory Glazener: From Italy to India, on view through May 31, 2007.

Glazener, a distinguished draughtsman, apprenticed with renowned fresco master, Ben Long. His current show is a collection of plein air drawings documenting his recent travels through Italy and India.

Glazener is part of a larger tradition, including Rembrandt and Van Gogh, which emphasizes the beauty contained in a singular line and an appreciation of antiquity. Just as the masters before, Glazener constructs his own quills, prepares rare paper, and mixes organic inks, often times consisting of red wine, honey and even soot. Consequently every component of his work - from the paper's fiber to the density of the line - unite to create a uniquely beautiful piece.
