Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, Features Student Exhibitions

Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, is presenting several new exhibits at Winthrop University Galleries including: the 20th Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition, on view in the Rutledge Gallery and the MFA Thesis Exhibition by Erica Shaver on view in the Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery. Both exhibitions will be on view through June 19, 2008.

Daniel P. Gottlieb, the director of planning and design at the North Carolina Museum of Art will be this year's distinguished juror for the annual undergraduate exhibition. Gottlieb is a graduate from Winthrop's Master of Arts in Arts Administration program and has 27 years of experience in museum design and management. He is currently directing the North Carolina Museum of Art building expansion and development of the 164 acre Museum Park.

Gottlieb will select an exhibition of student-artists work from a variety of disciplines including, painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry/metals, photography, ceramics, illustration, printmaking, graphic design and interior design.

In the Elizabeth Dunlap Patrick Gallery, the jewelry of Erica Shaver will provide a glimpse into her MFA thesis and the years she has spent at Winthrop growing into a mature artist.
