Art League of Henderson County in Hendersonville, NC, Features Works by Kate Thayer and Bill Wheeler
The Art League of Henderson County, will feature
works by Kate Thayer of Saluda, NC, and Bill Wheeler of Horseshoe,
NC, at Opportunity House in Hendersonville, NC. The two Art League
members have received recognition regionally for their art.
In 2004 Kate Thayer won an Artist of the Year award from the Art
League for her mystical use of pastels in a small landscape painting.
A Wisconsin native, she is mostly self-taught, but her dedication
to her art has won her ribbons at shows in Hendersonville, Highlands,
and Brevard. Thayer is represented by Wickwire gallery in Hendersonville.
Bill Wheeler's realistic watercolors of Henderson County homes, historical sites, and natural beauty won recognition when they became the subjects of a popular local poster. A former commercial artist in auto design for Ford Motors, he has received high honors in Art League exhibitions.
