Haywood County Arts Council in Waynesville, NC, Offers Works by Lenore Barnett and Timothy Charles Jacobs

The Haywood County Arts Council in Waynesville, NC, will present an exhibition of works by two uniquely different regional landscape artists, Lenore Barnett and Timothy Charles Jacobs in Gallery 86, from June 6 through July 7, 2007.

Lenore Barnett

Lenore Barnett is an award-winning representational artist who enjoys painting landscapes of color, mood, and light. Although she favors oils, she also uses a variety of other media, including acrylics, colored pencil, graphite, ink, watercolors and pastels.  Drawing inspiration from Barnett's personal experience and personal photographs taken during her extensive travels at home and abroad, her first-hand knowledge enhances her ability to paint the color, light and delicate contrasts of both man-made and natural landscapes. Barnett enjoys working in her studio but whenever possible paints en plein-air.

Timothy Charles Jacobs

Timothy Charles Jacobs is a native of western North Carolina; he completed his undergraduate and graduate work in art at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. His thesis centered on the influence of late evening light on the landscape. Jacobs's work represents a time of change and contemplation as he works without distractions. He lives and paints in his studio in Webster, NC.
