Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Allison Wolf

Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, a fine arts gallery showcasing the works of over 100 talented local and national artists, will celebrate its five year anniversary in June by featuring the works of contemporary, pop surrealism artist, Allison Wolf.  Wolf's artwork will be on display from June 6 - July 13, 2008.

Influenced by 1700s Asian art, Gustav Klimt's early 1900s works and George Barbier, Wolf's art reflects her current state of mind.  She works in the moment where she sees the big picture first and finds the details from that vision.

"I am a graphic designer by trade and designer and artist by passion," said Wolf. "I love bright, beautiful patterns and find a lot of modern influences from textiles, which I incorporate into all of my art."

Wolf, whose work is inspired by digital media, illustrated-painting and fun patterns, will incorporate her gallery designs into clothing pieces for her Sept. 27 wedding party in Charlotte. Next to the artwork, she will include a yard of fabric to showcase the piece's fashion inspiration. Wolf is also the owner of Green Rice Gallery, The Boulevard at NoDa and designer of the Milkweed Collection clothing line.

Since its opening in 2003, Green Rice Gallery has expanded from showcasing only local artists in an 800 sq. ft. space to a larger 5,100 sq. ft. gallery that also includes artists from across the country. "Over the past five years, I have had the opportunity to work with many creative and talented artists," said Wolf.  "I'm excited to show their influence and inspiration in my work through this exhibit."
