Gallery 317 Has Opened in Lincolnton, NC

While hundreds, if not thousands, of art galleries across the US are closing their doors due to the sputtering economy, a new art gallery located between Charlotte and Blowing Rock, NC, is opening.  Gallery 317, located at 3265 East Highway 27 in Lincolnton, NC, two and a half miles east of US 321 exit 24, opened for business on May 17, 2010. Leaning toward the contemporary, Gallery 317 offers original works and limited editions in a variety of mediums including glass, oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, bronze, ceramics, exotic wood, and photography.

Gallery 317 represents established and emerging artists across the US with a concentration of regional artists from Western North Carolina. Says Karen Banker, gallery owner and professional artist, "When selecting our artists, we seek those who are willing to take risks to create truly unique works of art, work that hasn't been seen before. And in addition, by representing several artists from Western North Carolina, we are able to 'bring the mountains closer to home' for those art enthusiasts who live in Charlotte."
