Broadhurst Gallery in Pinehurst, NC, Features Works by T Barny

The Broadhurst Gallery in Pinehurst, NC, is presenting an exhibit of works by T Barny, a California stone sculptor, on view through June 30, 2011. Barny is celebrating 30 years as a professional sculptor; this traveling show is moving from Connecticut to North Carolina for this engagement, back to California and then onto New Mexico.

Barny’s passion is stone. The new sculpture will include stone pieces carved from Utah Calcite, Argentine Onyx and Canadian Anhydrite to name a few. His bronze collection will also be featured as well. This is an exhibit of sculpture that emphasizes the theme that “stone is universal” and appeals to all as does music and art.

“Stone has personality, character, texture and density,” says Barney. “Knowing how to work with many types of stone has been a challenge and I’ve had to draw upon my 30 year carving background to accomplish this type of show.”

Barny has shown in over 300 shows in 30 years. His professional sculpting career has spanned decades and his pieces hold prestigious placement in collections internationally. His studio is in the heart of the California Wine Country.
