Backtracks Gallery in Black Mountain, NC, Features Works by Lorelle Bacon

The Backtracks Gallery in Black Mountain, NC, will be showing New and Diverse Works by Lorelle Bacon through July 31, 2001. The work on display will be diverse in mediums, subjects and size!

Known primarily as a portrait artist, Bacon says, "Spirit has been moving me into uncharted waters in both subject and mediums. The pieces in this exhibit are the intermediate step in reaching the goal that God has given me. In the process I am discovering that the fear of change that I once had is disappearing and I excitedly look forward now to what comes next! It is my hope that those who view this body of work, will feel that excitement too.

Bacon lives in Black Mountain where she has her studio. She is an art instructor at both Michael's in Asheville, NC, and the Black Mountain Center for the Arts. The Pinellas County Arts Council chose her as a nominee three years in a row for the prestigious "Friends of the Arts Awards" in art education. Bacon holds memberships in The Association of Asheville Artists, Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts league, Miniature Artists of America, Miniature Art Society of Florida and others. Her artwork has been exhibited and won awards both nationally and internationally. She had a piece titled Chasing Bubbles accepted for a special exhibit in Nagano, Japan during the Olympics. Bacon is primarily a self-taught artist that loves to help others find the joy of creating. A past gallery owner in Black Mountain and Gulfport, FL, she now devotes her time to painting and teaching.
