Asheville Gallery Of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Howell Boyd

In Asheville, NC, painter Howell Boyd is Asheville Gallery of Art's Artist of the Month for July, 2002.

Boyd paints figures, interiors, still lifes, and landscapes. His work is representational and derives from nature, photographs, and his own imagination. His medium is acrylics, and his images have both expressionist and impressionist qualities.

Boyd studied drawing and painting at the University of Nebraska and at the University of Mississippi. He has exhibited at The Biltmore Estate, Asheville, NC; Brooks Museum of Art, Memphis, TN; Forum Gallery, New York City, NY; Laguna Gloria Art Museum, Austin, TX; Roane County Arts and Humanities Council, Spencer, WV; San Antonio Art Institute, San Antonio, TX; Transylvania County Arts Council, Brevard, NC; Tryon Fine Arts Center Gallery, Tryon, NC; and elsewhere.
